Funeral of Mrs. Eugene H. Russell, 58, to Be Held Tuesday Afternoon at Primitive Baptist Church at Farmersville
   Mrs. Essie Allyn Russell, who would have been 58 years old on April 5, wife of Eugene H. Russell, secretary of the Posey County Mutual Insurance Company, succumbed to a lingering illness at her home near Farmersville at 2:10 o'clock Sunday afternoon.
She underwent an operation in an Evansville hospital several weeks ago and had steadily grown worse.
   Mrs. Russell's life, spent entirely in her native Farmersville vicinity, was a monument of family devotion and neighborly kindness. Her home was her shrine, but her sympathetic interest and helpfulness radiated far beyond her own immediate family.
          Funeral Rites Tuesday
   The funeral will be held at 2:00 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Primitive Baptist church at Farmersville with burial following in Bellefontaine cemetery. Elder Charles Arnold, Carmi, Ill., will be in charge.
   Mrs. Russell was a member of Victoria camp, Royal Neighbors of America, of Farmersville.
   The deceased was a descendant of two pioneer families of the Farmersville locality. Her father was Joseph Allyn and her mother, Rachel Ann Alldredge Allyn. Her marriage to Mr. Russell took place forty years ago.
          Large Family Survives
   Nearest surviving relatives are the husband; four sons, Loren H., Elkhart, Ind., and Gaylord, Carl and Gene, of Mt. Vernon and vicinity, the last-named sports editor of The Democrat; four daughters, Mrs. Carl Davis, of near Mt. Vernon, Mrs. Ralph Harrison, Delphi, Ind., Ann Russell, statehouse employe [sic], Indianapolis, and Mrs. Norman Johnson, Elkhart; three grandchildren; five brothers, Anderson Allyn, Sanger, Calif., John Allyn, Santa Cruz, Calif., and Marcus Alvin and Walter A. Allyn, of the Farmersville vicinity, and four sisters, Mrs. J. P. Mills, Mrs. Samuel Carroll, Mrs. Walter Poole and Mrs. John H. Bradley, all of near Mt. Vernon."
