My brother, Michael, was a 'take charge' kind of person since childhood. As a youngster, I looked up to him. Through the years, I learned from 'Mike' and admired him so. Mike was ambitious, resourceful and determined. As a young man, he often worked two or more jobs. He was a goal setter and strived to see his goals realized. Mike was a loving son, brother, husband and father. He was always giving. He could be stubborn and always stood his ground. But, I liked that about him also. He was an intelligent man who worked in city government and later in the oil industry. I was devastated when Mike died, as were my parents. A short time after his death, our mother planned his memorial service. She is a strong woman and Mike was very much like her. Not long ago, I was discussing Mike with my parents. They told me, of all their sons, Mike was the one who gave them the most trouble while growing up. Headstrong as a youngster and headstrong 'til the end of his life, that was Mike. We all love and miss him very much.
