Son of Andrew Byers (1827-1899) and Nancy Whistler (1833-1894).

Married Della Florence Wickersam 19 May 1895. They had eight children.

In 1890 Andrew joined D. S. Warner and Barney Warren in evangelistic work. He joined the Gospel Trumpet in 1891. He held the position of Music Editor. Andrew wrote many songss. His book, Birth of A Reformation: The Life and Labors of D. S. Warner, was published in 1921.

Because of health reasons, Andrew left the Gospel Trumpet Company in 1922.

Before taking a pastorate in Sacramento, California, in 1934, Andrew was in Idaho and Oregon were he served as an evangelist and a pastor.

His is listed in "Who's Who Among American Authors".
