Otha Lee Bownds, 87, passed away Thursday, Jan. 21, 2010.
Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Monday in Biggers Funeral Chapel. Interment: 3 p.m. in Mount Olive Cemetery in Scurry. Visitation: 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Biggers Funeral Home.
Otha was born Aug. 29, 1922, in St. Clair, Mo., to James and Martha Hale. She had been an area resident for over 47 years and was a longtime member of Northwest Church of Christ. She loved to travel and paint and was a member of the Northwest Art Association.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Bownds, in 1994; a daughter, Cynthia Bownds; and a brother, Jim Hale.
Survivors: Children, Betty Pearson of Murfreesboro, Ark., Barbara Wiggins, Bonnie Bownds, and Don Bownds, all of Fort Worth, and Debbie Graham of Brownsville; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
