Obituary from Messenger of Truth Issue 19, 1943. Henry B. Miller was born in Waterloo Co., Ontario, May 31, 1847, where he also grew to manhood. He was joined in marriage to Elizabeth Bear, May 2, 1871. To this union 10 children were born; 2 dying in infancy. The surviving are 5 sons, Will, Abe, Dave, Frank, and Jay; 3 daughters, Barbara Liefert, Ann Wittock, and Amanda Smith. His wife preceeded him in death in 1919. Since the death of his wife he lived with his children; the last years he spent with his daughter in whose home he also passed away, near St. Johns. He was converted during a series of meetings conducted by the late John Holdeman, in Canada about 65 years ago. Later his wife joined him in the faith and they were baptized and added to the church, remaining true to the end. About 60 years ago the family moved to near St. Johns, Mich. Later to Ithaca, Mich. He attended the Man. Conference, Oct. 1921; from there he journeyed to Alberta and California where he spent about 1 year. He has a brother, William, 91, in Minn. whom he last saw in 1921; another brother, John, 85, in N. D. and a sister, Maria Hilderly, in Ont. -The Family. Funeral services were held at Newark Mennonite Church. Min. F. C. Fricke giving introductory remarks and prayer. Min. F. F. Haynes spoke from scriptures, Heb. 9:27, Amos 4:12, and 2 Cor. 5:1. Interment was made in North Greenwood cemetery beside his wife.
