Mary Louise Smith Franklin, age 85 of Alvin, Texas passed away Sunday, January 17, 2010 at Forest Oaks Nursing Home, Hamilton, Texas. Mary was born on July 27, 1924 in Alvin, Texas to John and Bessie Cochran. She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist faith. Mary enjoyed dancing and going on road trips to the casinos. Mary was preceded in death by her first husband, Herbert " Cotton" Smith, husband, Kenneth Franklin, parents, John and Bessie Cochran, daughter, Cathy Smith, sister, Doris Faye Jones and brothers, Bill Cochran, Robert "Bob" Cochran and J.C. Cochran.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Earlene Blansit and husband, Raymond of Hamilton, Texas, sons, Donald Ray Smith and wife, Vicki of Pensacola, Florida, Wayne Smith and wife, Dorothy of Alvin, Texas, Larry Smith and Marie Smith of Alvin, Texas, sisters, Betty June Costelow and husband, Lee of Alvin, Texas, Audrey Vellion and husband, James of Alvin, Texas and brother, Eddie Cochran and wife, Roene of Santa, Fe, Texas, 15 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, numerous other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at Scott Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, January 21, 2010 at Scott Funeral Home Chapel.
