Lodge Pioneer is Claimed by Death Friday
Mrs. Wakefield Dies At Family Home; Is Buried Saturday
Mrs. W. Wakefield, pioneer resident of Hall County, died at the family home at Lodge at 6:15 a.m. last Friday morning, after an illness of several months. She was born on July 5, 1884, and had long been a resident of Lodge, her husband being a prominent merchant of that community.
Funeral services were held Saturday morning at 10 o'clock at the Seventh and Brice Streets Church of Christ, being conducted by Lester W. Fisher, minister. Following services at the church, interment took place in Fairview cemetery. A large crowd of friends and realtives [sic] attended the services and an unusually large floral offering attested to the affection and esteem in which Mrs. Wakefield was held by friends and acquaintances.
Mrs. Wakefield is survived by her husband, four boys and four girls, all of whom were present at the funeral services with the exception of one son, who is making his home in California.
