At the time President Kennedy was assassinated, Haddon Spurgeon Aiken (aka: H.S.Aiken) worked as a "warehouseman" at the 2nd warehouse belonging to the Texas School Book Depository (TSBD). This warehouse was located several blocks N.E. of the TSBD proper, at 1917 N. Houston Street. It was was the historic, old Waples-Platter Grocery Warehouse Bldg, built in 1925, which also housed their "White Swan Coffee Roasting Company". It was later purchased by the TSBD as a book warehouse. (In recent years it was turned into a "Dicks Last Resort" restaurant but it still sports the original, faded, "White Swan Coffee Co." sign painted on the brick facade and a newer red and white metallic "White Swan" sign about 1/2 way down.)
Aiken was not called to testify before the Warren Commission, but said in his March 20, 1964 Statement to the FBI that he resided at 302 South Houston Street, Dallas, Texas, was 69 years of age, and was born September 3, 1894, at Lipan, Texas. He reported that at the time of the assassination he was in the N. Houston Warehouse with 22 yo, fellow warehouseman, Franklin Emmett Wester, and was not at the TSBD proper, and therefore, did not see the assassination or Lee Harvey Oswald.
However, Aiken did play a small role in the post-assassination investigation. In addition to being a "warehouseman," Aiken was also in charge of, or had access to, the TSBD personnel/hiring files which were all kept at this 2nd location. As such, Aiken was the man who TSBD Manager Roy Truly telephoned to get the information they had about Lee Harvey Oswald for the Dallas Police once Truly reported Oswald "missing" early on the afternoon of 11/22/63.
