John Hooper was born At Richardson Stead, Scremerston, England and died at Dryburn, England, aged 74 years. He married Mary Nesbit. Early in life he moved to Bowsden, Eng. where he spent upwards of thirty years, following the trade of a shoemaker. Upon retirement he was in the employment of his son-in-law, Mr. Thos. Mark. When he and his wife were upwards of seventy years, they traveled to America to visit two of their daughter who lived in America. Namely, Mrs. George Allen of Richland County, IL and Mrs. Jane Wrightman of California. They spent a year in America.
