Reba Dean Bishop, 70, formerly of Connersville, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010, at Ambassador Health Care in Centerville.

Born Feb. 20, 1939, in Clay County, Ky., she was the daughter of Robert and Bessie Davidson Byrd, both of whom preceded her in death.

On April 30, 1960, in Kentucky, she became the bride of Willie Bishop. Mr. Bishop passed away in 2006.

Reba attended First Church of the Nazarene. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time with her family.

She will be missed by a daughter, Janice Brummett of Connersville; three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Kathy Bishop of Springersville, Jack and Gina Bishop and James and Marlene Bishop, all of Connersville; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Keenies and Mildred Byrd and Brackie and Kathleen Byrd, all of Connersville, Bernard and Lola Byrd of Brookville, Ind., and Troy Byrd of London, Ky.; and 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Gilbert, Earl and Marse Byrd.

Funeral services will be held at Urban-Winkler Funeral Home on Saturday at 10 a.m. with Rev. Dean Van Winkle, pastor of Columbia United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Springersville Cemetery.
