CHARLES E. ADKINS SR., 64, of 2415 Lorene Ave., died Monday at Floyd County Memorial Hospital in New Albany, Ind. He was a native of Corbin, a retired maintenance roofer for Mobile Waste and an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include two sons, Charles E. Adkins Jr. of Campbellsville and Robert A. Adkins of Corbin; three daughters, Mrs. Aileen Wooldridge of Shepherdsville, Mrs. Rosella Delk of Marietta, Ga., and Mrs. Janice F. Brown; a brother, Raymond E. Adkins of Jeffersonville, Ind.; three sisters, Mrs. Mary R. Stansbury of Jeffersontown, and Mrs. Naomi Cushin and Mrs. Juanita Davidson, both of Las Vegas, Nev.; 13 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Coots Funeral Home, 120 W. Maple St., Jeffersonville, Ind., with burial in Zachary Taylor National Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be after noon Wednesday.
