WM. STEPHEN THOMAS DIES NEAR ROCKFORD: William Stephen Thomas, 82, died at his home near Rockford Monday following several weeks illness. "Uncle Tebe" was born in Coosa County and had many friends in this, section of the state where he spent his entire life. He was married to Miss Beulah Payton in 1890 and to this union were born ten children, eight of whom survive: Mrs. J. W. Rich, Childersburg; Mrs. Homer Culver and Mrs. Maud Sallas, Curtis, Ernest, Paul and S. Thomas, all of Rockford; Ulyses Thomas, Stewartville. Besides the widow and eight children, he leaves 37 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; one brother, R. B. Thomas, of Whigham, Ga., and one sister, Mrs. Ellen Cowart, of Rockford.
