Forney Messenger, Feb 03, 1961 "Funeral rites were held Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Anderson-Clayton Funeral Chapel in Forney for Willie Albert Hughes a long time resident of the Heath Community. Mr. Hughes had been seriously ill for several months. He died Wednesday at his home. He was born Nov. 24, 1890 at Springfield, Alabama and came to Texas when a youngster of 10 years. He had made his home in the Heath Community the past 50 years. His parents were the late Rufus and Emmaline Criswell Hughes. Mr. Hughes was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Heath Methodist Church. He was married to Miss Delia Downing September 2, 1916. Interment was in Hillcrest Cemetery with the Rev. Windell Bell and the Rev. L. B. Jenkins officiating. Pallbearers were Will Sabot, Avis Nash, Jerry Mac Nash, Raymond Terrell, Arthur Pinson, C. D. Hughes and Allen Nelson. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Delia Hughes, one brother, ASA Hughes, one nephew, C. D. Hughes, four nieces, Mrs. Ella Mae Neighbors of Rockwall, Mrs. Edna Middleton of Rocky Ford, Colorado, Miss Jo Ann Hughes and Miss Mary Jane Hughes of Enid,Oklahoma."
