Born in the part of Keene in about 1809 which became in 1849 North Elba, Essex County, New York, to Daniel Ray, founder of Jay, Essex, NY and namesake of Ray Brook, and Lydia, maiden name unknown.
Her first marriage was to Ozro Finel.
"Ozro Finel married an adopted daughter of Deacon Joseph Blake [Mariah Ray] and their son Egbert O. Finel is well remembered by many residents of Elizabethtown. After Ozro Finel's death his widow and son lived for some time with Deacon Blake. Eventually they moved to St. Johnsbnry, Vt., where Mrs. Finel again married and where her son found employment in the scale works. Egbert O. Finel died within recent years."1
Second marriage was to Harvey Gilbert of St. Johnsbury, VT on the 13th of September, 1865. He was married twice before, to Clarissa Mellish and Florilla Eaton Skeele, widow of Timothy Skeele. He died on the 29th of December, 1869.2
Her third marriage was to Oliver Badger in Barnet, Caledonia, VT on the 18th of November, 1873 and recorded in St. Johnsbury, Caledonia, VT on the 20th of November, 1873.
