Services for Wife of Bank of Commerce President Held at Canby

The funeral services of the late Mrs. Margaret V. Brown, wife of George H. Brown, president of the Bank of Commerce, were held at the Methodist church at Canby Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock. People from many sections of the county attended the services.
Rev. Boyd Moore, pastor of the church, assisted by Rev. M.M. Stocker, pastor of the Presbyterian church of this city, officiated. The choir, assisted by Mrs. W.C. Green and Mrs. Frank Schoenborn of this city, sang "Rock of Ages" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere."
The pallbearers were members of the Presbyterian church, of which denomination Mrs. Brown was a member. They were E.H. Cooper, H.A. Rands, J.C. Cochran, W.C. Green, Frank Schoenborn and C. Schuebel. Floral tributes were many.
Interment was in the Zion cemetery at Canby and many attended the last rites at the grave.
From 11 to 12 o'clock the three banks of this city, out of respect to the bank president's wife, closed their doors during the funeral services. They, were also represented at the funeral services, and many friends of the family of this city, attended the services at the church and at the cemetery.
Mrs. Brown, who has been ill for several weeks, dead at the family home at New Era Sunday. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs., David McArthur, well known pioneer residents of New Era.

The "Baby Belton" buried by Margaret was her grandson, Howard Carl Belton.
