Panama City, Fla - Jack P. Bowman, 33 years old, a native of Sikeston, Mo., was killed Thursday when an Air Force F106 jet fighter crashed at nearby Tyndall Air Force Base.
The Delta Dart jet crashed about 10 miles east of Tyndall following an explosion during a test flight.
Capt. Bowman was the son of Mr. and Mrs. L. R. Bowman, Jr. of Sikeston, who survive.
Capt. Bowman married the former Dawn Johnson in 1957. She also survives.
Other survivors are a son, John Jr.; a brother David Bowman; and his paternal grandfather, L. R. Bowman.
Capt. Bowman was a 1949 graduate of Sikeston High School. He graduated from the University of Missouri in 1953. Immediately after graduation, he enlisted in the Air Force.
Military services were conducted today at the Air Force base. Mrs. and Mrs. David Bowman were present.
