Boyd Leon Ferguson

Boyd Leon Ferguson, 78, of Bartlett, Tennessee, died Monday, April 16, 2007, at Methodist Hospital North in Memphis.

Mr. Ferguson was born April 25, 1928, in Smithville, Mississippi. He was a former chemical operator at Dupont Corporation. Mr. Ferguson was a U.S. Army veteran and served in the Korean War.

On June 6, 1951, he was married to Naka Ferguson in Yokohoma, Japan. She preceded him in death on September 1, 1975. Mr. Ferguson was also preceded in death by his parents, William Bryant Ferguson and Sarah Frances King Ferguson.

Surviving are seven sons; Jack (Helen) Ferguson of Estill Springs, Tennessee, Lee (Audrey) Ferguson and John Ferguson of Bartlett, Kim Ferguson of Memphis, Sam (Barbara) Ferguson of Destrehan, Louisiana, Jim (Piete) Ferguson of Rockvale, Tennessee, Leo (Pat) Ferguson of Shelbyville, Tennessee; two daughters, Cathy Bingham of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Jan Truska of Millersville, Missouri; one brother, William Bryant Ferguson, Jr., of Smithville, Mississippi; 16 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 18, 2007, beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Edwards Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Doniphan City Cemetery.
