Penny S. Woods, 51, of Oskaloosa, died Thursday, December 10, 2009, at her home in Oskaloosa. She was born December 21, 1957 at Iowa City, the daughter of Grover and Virginia Kisor Woods. She was a graduate of Oskaloosa High School, and was a homemaker. She had worked at the old Happy Joe's in Oskaloosa, and lastly worked at Pizza Ranch for a time. Penny enjoyed garage sales; sewing, racing, spending time with her family and attending family get togethers.
Penny's family includes a son, Adam Woods of Oskaloosa; a brother and his wife, Russell and Wilma Woods of Pella; an uncle: Dwight "Ike" Groves (& Sue White); 5 nieces: Deana (& Dave) Stanley of Pella, Denise (& Doug) Rodwell, Sabrina (& Scott) Evans both of Oskaloosa, Heidi (& John) Boocher of Illinois, and Miranda Woods; 4 nephews: Jason (& Amy) Shafer, and Curtis Woods both of Oskaloosa, Jeff (& Christi) Van Maanen of Wisconsin, and Kirk (& Grace) Van Maanen of Illinois; 2 brother-in-laws: Jerry (& Becky) Shafer of Eddyville and David (& Evonne) Van Maanen of Oskaloosa.
Penny was preceded in death by her parents; a brother: Jerry Woods; and two sisters: Ruth Van Maanen and Mary L. Shafer.
Penny's body has been cremated and a graveside service will be held at a later date at the Union Mills Cemetery, east of New Sharon.
