Tommy Dean Allen
(July 22, 1952 - January 19, 2010)
Tom was born in Dougherty to John Perry & Mildred (Saunders) Allen. He had lived in the Dougherty and Sulphur area all of his life. He graduated from Sulphur High School. He served in the US Marines from 1969 until 1973. He was in law enforcement serving with the Stratford, Lindsay, Velma, and Ardmore Police Departments before joining the Murray County Sheriff Department as undersheriff in 1987. He later worked with the D.A.'s Task Force and in 2000 joined the Carter County Sheriff Department. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. He and Amy Moore were married on April 20, 1984 in Ardmore.
He was preceded in death by his father J.P. Allen and a daughter Tammy Sue Allen.
Survivors: wife Amy of Sulphur, Daughters & Sons-in-law: Tiffany Moore & Eric of Mill Creek, Deana Boyd & Jeremy of Sulphur, Son & his wife: Timmy Allen & Rebecca of Sulphur and Son: Stormi Allen of Sulphur, Mother: Mildred Allen of Sulphur, Brother & his wife: Perry & Shirley of Sulphur, Grandchildren: Miranda Allen Moore, Alicia & Shelby Smith, Kaitlyn Boyd, Hunter Allen, Kameron Welch.
Services: Saturday January 23 at 3:30 P.M. at the First Baptist Church with interment in Oaklawn Cemetery.
