Stanley Wayne Rothell
LOS LUNAS, N.M. - Memorial service for Stanley Wayne Rothell, 69, Los Lunas, N.M., will be at 1:30 p.m. Jan. 30 at St. John Lutheran Church, 7th and A. Ave., with the Rev. Richard Mayer officiating assisted by Vicar Peter Gueldner.

A later memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Feb. 6 at First United Methodist Church, Belen, N.M.

Mr. Rothell passed away Monday, Jan. 18, 2010.

Burial will be in Faxon Cemetery under direction of Direct Cremation Services, Albuquerque, N.M.

He was born March 4, 1940, in Faxon, to Cranford and Viola Dunnagan Rothell. He graduated from high school in Muleshoe, Texas, in 1958. He served in the Army. He retired from Schlumberger in 1997 after working all over the world as a plant maintenance supervisor for offshore drilling rigs. His love of restoring and driving old cars started when he was a teen and continued to be his main hobby until his death. He is well known among the street rod and antique car clubs. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Belen.

He is survived by his wife, Janice, of the home; four children and their spouses: Jeff Rothell, Frisco, Texas; Kelli and Mike Johnson, Elizabeth, Colo; Vicki and David Ussery, Duncan; and Gina and Charles Glass, Marlow; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and four sisters and a brother and their spouses: Janett Currey, Faxon; Betty Moran, and Loveta and Richard Matthys, all of Lawton; Dorothy Bishop, Shamrock, Texas; and Calvin and Ilona Rothell, of Jones.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
