John E. was born April 5, 1915 in Mt. Carmel, Pa. a son of John E. Sr. and Mamie Weis Baker of Ephrata, Pa. and was twice married was the husband of Helen Grace Eyler Baker who predeceased him, his first wife and Nora R. Baker who survives him his second wife.

John was a veteran of World War II, served in the US Army and had been employed by Borg Warner Corp., York, Pa. as a machinist.

He was a member of the Walkersville United Methodist Church, American Legion, Post No. 791 of Shioh, Pa.,the Yankee Athletic Association, Alighan Shrine Temple, Cumberland, theChesapeake Consistory, Lynch Lodge No.163 AF&AM Masons, Frederick, Walkersville Volunteer Fire Company, La Societe Des 40 Hommes Et.8 Chevaux, Frederick Scottish Rite Bodies and the 25-year Continuous Service Club of Borg Warner Corp.

In addition to his wife Nora R. he is survived by his mother, Mamie Weis Baker, Ephrata, Pa., one son, John E. Baker III, and one daughter, Patricia Ann Wenzel and husband Paul Elwood, four grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

John is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Taylor Lowry Jr., Lancaster, Pa. and Mrs. Ethel Hesse, Ephrata, Pa.

Funeral services held at the Barton-Stauffer Funeral Home, Walkersville with the Rev. John Leaf, pastor St. Paul's Lutheran Church officiating and internment made in Glade Cemetery, Walkersville by Barton-Stauffer funeral directors, Walkersville.
