He graduated from Bloomington High School in 1964. Rick served in the US Navy on board the carrier USS Midway during Vietnam. After his service he married Linda Dahl in Minneapolis in 1967. They moved to Sandstone in 1979, where Rick worked at FCI for the next 20 years until his retirement. He loved to motorcycle, classic cars, surfing the internet, and his pets.
He is preceded in death by his father Philip.
Rick is survived by his wife of 42 years, Linda; son Russ; brother Ed (Kathy) Janes; mother, Eleanor Janes-King, several sisters and brothers in law, nieces, nephews, friends, and his dog Toots, cat Lamont, and grand dog Boomer.
