John Ferguson, one of the best known farmers in Blacklick township, died very suddenly on last Thursday morning at about 12. He had appeared in his usual health in the morning and performed various little tasks about the house. At about 11 he went inside, where shortly afterwards he was stricken with heart failure, dying a few moments later. Mr. Ferguson was aged about 67 years and lived his entire life on the farm on which he died. He is survived by his wife and seven children, the latter being Dr. Frank, of Gallitzin; Charles D., of near Blairsville; Maud, who clerks in Boggs & Buhl's store, Allegheny; and Jennie, George, Rebecca and James, who resided at home. He was one of a family of 12 children, one of whom is A. D. Ferguson, of Blairsville. the funeral took place on Thursday at 2, the interment being at Hopewell cemetery.
