Semi-Weekly Cedar Falls Gazette, The | Cedar Falls, Iowa | Friday, May 05, 1899 | Page 7: Mrs. Emma Fisher, wife of Harrison Fisher, died at her home near Delavan, Kansas, April 28, of malignant cancer. Eighteen months ago she was taken to Topeka and had it cut away, but received no benefit.
The cancer was caused by using a crutch ten years ago. Four abscesses formed around the arm at the shoulder and consumed the flesh, till the cords were bare, then for six weeks fed upon the right lung, till death relieved her suffering.
Mrs. Fisher will be remembered by many friends in and around Cedar Falls; was a faithful member of the Baptist church here for thirty years. Leaves a husband and four grown children.
