Carol Jean Farris, age 72 of Centerville, Iowa passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at the Shamrock Heights Apartments in Centerville.

Carol was born January 29, 1937, the daughter of Lloyd and Olive(Hayes)Sleeth in Centerville, Iowa. She married Eldon Hiram Farris Sr. on October 7, 1954 in Unionville, Missouri. He preceded her in death in December of 2001. Carol worked at the Blue Bird Cafe, Saddle Rock Cafe and retired after thirteen years from the Golden Age Care Center as a dietary cook. Carol loved to crochet, watch Soap Opera's and spend time with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the West Christian Church.

Carol is survived by her mother, Olive Sleeth, children, Peggy(John)Hodges of Camdenton, Missouri, Dianna Davis and special friend Jim Neveau of Des Moines, Iowa, Wayne(Bobbi)Farris of Centerville, Iowa; ten grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and siblings; Gibert Sleeth of Des Moines, Iowa, Barbara Sleeth of Cincinnati, Iowa, Paul Sleeth of Washington, Gerald(Tina)Sleeth of Oroville, Washington, Randy(Linda)Sleeth of Washington, Gerald(Tina)Sleeth of Oroville, Washington, Randy(Linda)Sleeth of Oregon, Virginia(Hal May)Johnson of Ankeny, Iowa, Lucy(Tony)Russo of Norwalk, Iowa, Danny(Barbara)Sleeth of Des Moines, Iowa, Glenda(Tommy)Davis of South Carolina, and Lola(Chris)Brown of Cincinnati, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eldon Hiram Farris Sr.; father, Lloye Sleeth; children, Eldon Farris Jr., Jackie Paul Farris, James Max Farris, Sandra Farris, Loretta Mullin; and a brother Edwin(Mary)Sleeth.

Funeral services will be held 2 pm, Saturday, June 20, 2009 at the Lange Funeral Home in Centerville with Pastor Kay Singley officiating. Burial will follow at the White Cemetery west of Cincinnati, Iowa. A visitation will be held on Saturday prior to the service with family present from 12-2 pm. A memorial has been established to the family and may be left at the funeral home.
