Cora S. Nickels; 85, of Henryville
Funeral services for Cora S. Nickels, 85, of Henryville, will be at 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25, at R.D. Pyke Funeral Service, Henryville, with burial at Mt. Zion Cemetery. She died Friday, Jan. 23, 2009, at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville.
She was born Oct. 9, 1923, in Pineville, Ky., to parents Rufus Saylor and Lottie Wilson Saylor. She was a homemaker, and a member of Henryville United Methodist Church and Eastern Star Scottsburg Chapter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Nickels; and her parents.
Survivors include her sons, Dr. Richard "Bud" Nickels and his wife, Joan, of Gainsville, Ga., David Nickels and his wife, Ruth, of Hanover, and Darrol Nickels and his wife, Donna, of Greenwood; brother, Rufus Saylor Jr., of Greenwood; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until time of service Sunday.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 206, Henryville, IN 47126, or Berea College.
