Kathleen C. Skogstad went to be with the Lord on January 19, 2010 in Spokane. She was born in Michel, B.C., Canada on May 17, 1914, the daughter of Antonio and Maria DeLuca.

She moved to Spokane in 1935. She married Dominic Tortorelli who preceded her in death.

Kathleen met Gerome Skogstad and they were married in 1952. Kathleen and Jerry enjoyed many happy years at their lake cabin at Loon Lake. Kathleen worked for several years selling women’s apparel at Diana Shop and Hughes. She enjoyed knitting and making Christmas decorations as well as reading and going to the casino with her pals Sami and Thelma. She was a generous and loving person.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers; and seven sisters.

Kathleen is survived numerous nieces, nephews in the U.S. and Canada. In Spokane she is survived by her nieces Marie Johnson, Catherine Martin, Karen (Don) Sweeney and family of Medical Lake; step family Jerry, Ron and Jamie Skogstad of Spokane.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Second Harvest N.W., P.O. Box 231, Spokane, WA 99210. Visitation will be Friday, January 22 from 12-5 pm at the funeral home. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 10 a.m. and also at the funeral home, with entombment to follow at Fairmount Memorial Park.
