Funeral services for Mrs. Nellie Burk, 81, of Parnell, were held at 3 p.m. today in the Church of Christ in Estelline, with David Harms, minister, and Herbert Gipson of Amarillo, officiating. Burial was in Hulver Cemetery under the direction of Spicer Funeral Home in Memphis.
Mrs. Burk died at 12:50 a.m. Monday in Hall County Hospital.
Born Nov. 30, 1896 in Indian Territory in Oklahoma, she married James A. Burk Dec. 24, 1914 in Parnell, where she had been a resident since 1910. She was a member of the Parnell community Club and the Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband of the home; four daughters, Mrs. Alva Tees of Hereford; Mrs. Opal Tees of Fort Worth; Mrs. Don Davis of Memphis; and Mrs. Billy Jo Mullin of Turkey; two sons, Gene of DeSoto and Harold of Parnell; three sisters, Mrs. Mabel Metcalf of Clovis, N.M.; Mrs. Nettie Tipton of Lamesa, Tex.; Mrs. Marie Armstrong of White Deer; three brothers, Edgar Jouett of Clovis, N.M.; Will Jouett of Turkey; and Jim Jouett of Memphis; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-great-children [sic].
