Childress – Carl B. Bowman, father of Glen D. Bowman of Childress, died about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday night while visiting at the home of Leslie Bruce at Parnell. Mr. Bowman was also a Parnell resident. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Church of Christ in Estelline, by J. C. Stepp, minister from Clarendon and G. B. Shelbern, minister from Amarillo, Interment will be in the Hulver cemetery by Spicer Funeral Home of Memphis. Mr. Bowman was born January 13, 1889, in Little River County, Arkansas, and had been a farmer and resident of Hall County since 1908. He married Miss Quay V. Bruce April 9, 1916, at Parnell and was a member of the Church of Chris. Survivors are his widow of the home; one other son, C. B. Bowman, Jr., of Amarillo; two daughters, Mrs. May Fair Meacham and Mrs. Del Ray House, both of Turkey; 11 grandchildren; three brothers, A. E. Bowman of Brownfield, Clarence Bowman of Lubbock and Jimmy Bowman of Memphis; two sisters, Mrs. Wayne Chambles of Mankins and Mrs. Labe Mitchell of Memphis.
