He was born in Anderson.
Survivors: Wife, Elaine Waldrup Gilbert; stepchildren, Stephen Rash and Pamela Ramey and sister, Christine Morgan, all of Anderson; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Predeceased: Parents, Fred R. Sr. and Orlean Cosby Gilbert and brother, Fred R. Gilbert Jr.
Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. today at The McDougald Funeral Home. Service: 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel. Burial: Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
