Lucille Bassler Van Deelen, age 87, was guided home by the angels to her Lord, January 16, 2010 at Morningside Health Center.
Lucille was born June 19, 1922 in Sheboygan to Alois and Mary (Haindl) Hoell.
She attended Holy Name of Jesus grade school and was a graduate of Central High School, Class of 1940.
On February 8, 1941 Lucille and Albert Bassler were united in marriage. He preceded her in death on December 29, 1972. On June 14, 1974 she married James Van Deelen. He preceded her in death on September 9, 1988.
For twenty-seven years she was a legal secretary for Gruhle, Fessler, and Van De Water law firm, retiring in 1983. After her retirement she volunteered her services in helping senior citizens in tax preparation at the Senior Center.
Lucille was a member of the Legal Secretary's Association and enjoyed their activities, especially modeling for their fashion shows. She was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Parish and the Sheboygan Elk's Lodge #299. She enjoyed traveling and the excitement of Las Vegas.
Lucille is survived by her daughter, Sandy Henseleit of New Berlin; two sons, Bradley (Marcia) Bassler of Waukesha and Scott (Mary) Bassler of Sheboygan; three grandchildren, Tiffany (Mike) Becker of Merton, WI, Brandon (Kelly) Bassler of Waukesha, and Meredith (Phil) Kauth of Gainsville, FL; one great-grandson, Derek Becker of Merton, WI; three brothers, William (Shirley) Hoell of Kohler, Thomas (Karen) Hoell and Gray (Charlotte) Hoell, all of Sheboygan; two sisters, Rosemary (Richard) Hermann and Marion (Jerry) Liesner, all of Sheboygan.
In addition to her husbands, Lucille was preceded in death by her brother, Alois Hoell, Jr.
A Mass of Christian Burial January 20, 2010 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Lucille will always be remembered for her friendly personality and loving generosity.
