ROBERTSON, Alma Bets, 95, of Pearisburg (Thessalia Community), died Monday, December 31, 2001 in Carilion Giles Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Robertson was born in Thessalia and was a daughter of the late Reuben and Clara Stafford (sic: Stone) Robertson. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Birdle Robertson and four sisters, Elva R. Saville, Edith Robertson, Dorothy R. Stafford and Gladys Robertson. Mrs. Robertson was a member of the Thessalia United Methodist Church, the Thessalia Extension Homemakers Club, a member of the Wabash Rebeckah Lodge #65 and was a veteran of WWII. She was a cherished member of the Thessalia Community. She is survived by a niece and several nephews and special care givers. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, January 2, 2002 at 2 p.m. in the Thessalia United Methodist Church with the Rev. Brad Lewis and Charles Henderson officiating, with interment in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Givens Funeral Home, Pearisburg, Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
