Mrs. Ashley was born Nov. 4, 1932 in Ashe County to the late John and Lenna Pennington Burkett. She was a proud member of the First Baptist Church, where she was active in the WMU, the choir and the Grace McGrady Sunday school class. She retired after 36 years of service from United Chemi-Con. She enjoyed quilting, singing, cooking and reading. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister-in-law.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 15, at the First Baptist Church by the Rev. Ken Morris and the Rev. Michael Lea. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 14 at Badger Funeral Home.
Mrs. Ashley is survived by: her husband, Harold Ashley; one son, Jody Ashley of Warrensville; one grandson, Brandon Ashley of Warrensville; and one sister-in-law, Dorothy Peeler of Warrensville.
