Mrs. Battenhouse was a member of Amherst Congregational United Church of Christ, a past officer of Stone City Chapter Order Eastern Star, Elyria White Shrine of Jerusalem and Amherst Sorosis Club.
Surviving are a daughter, Janet of Washington, D.C. and a brother, Byrd H. Richmond of Amherest.
Funeral services were Monday at 1 p.m. in Garland Funeral Home with the Rev. P. William VanderWyden, pastor of Amherst Congregational Church officiating.
An OES Ritual was held Sunday.
Burial was in Middle Ridge Cemetery.
