Obituary appeared in the Weekly Searchlight newspaper (Redding CA) on July 21, 1908. John R. Ingle, a pioneer miner of Shasta County, died here at 12 o'clock Saturday night at the age of 78. Paralysis was the cause of death. The deceased was a native of England. He came to Shasta County in the early sixties and, settling on Hazel Creek he took up mining and stockraising, a vocation he followed up to three months ago when he was suddenly taken down with paralysis. Mr. Ingle left a wife and four grown children: Annie and Jack [John W.] Ingle, of Sims and Mrs. [Sarah] George Scholfield and R.R. [Robert] Ingle of Carbon. Funeral services were held here in the family home at 1'oclock yesterday afternoon.
