PHOENIX, Arizona — Dr. Bill D. Morgan, 74, of Phoenix, formerly of Louisa County, passed away peacefully with his wife, Helen, by his side on Friday, January 9, 2009, after suffering a massive stroke.

He was laid to rest at Greenwood Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix on January 12, 2009.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 Flower St. Phoenix AZ. 85014.

Bill was born June 12, 1934, the son of Fred and Vera Finley Morgan, in rural Louisa County. He married Helen W. Noble in Muscatine.

He graduated from Grandview High School and Palmer College of Chiropractic. He began his practice in Ottawa, Illinois, then moved to Phoenix in 1976.

He and Helen enjoyed more than 50 years of marriage and was recognized in August 2008 for 50 years of chiropractic service.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Morgan of Phoenix, Arizona; three daughters; Cynthia Morgan-Parks and husband, Alphonso, of Tempe, Arizona, Caroline Morgan of Phoenix, Arizona, and Dr. Karen Morgan-Herschell and husband, John, of Hayward, California; a grandson, PFC Aaron Varrato of Fort Lewis, Washington; a granddaughter, Morgan Nicodemus of Hayward, California; a sister, Lorna Nyenhuis and husband, Ray, of Muscatine; and many nieces and nephews.
