He was born on Dec. 6, 1941 in Fairmount, Illinois to Alva and Mabel Hatfield Jones. He married Velma Neal on Aug. 30, 1965. She survives.
He is also survived by two sons, Richie (Cindy Deline) Jones and Herby (Yvonne) Jones; one daughter, Tammi Gayle Schmit; four sisters, Doris Danner, Donna Clay, Barbara Parr and Maxine Collom; one brother, Charles Jones; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one cousin, Leroy DeMoss; nephews, Badley Jones and Danny Clay Jr.; one brother-in-law, David Neal; one sister-in-law, Sharon Frock; great-nieces, Cheri Johnson and Lauren Davis and great-nephews Aden and Kylar Heins.
Dick attended Faimount schools and was employed for 17 years at Material & Fuel in Danville. He also farmed for 27 years in Williamsport, Indiana. Dick enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, fishing, drives in the country, car shows, rabbit hunting and listening to '50s and '60s music.
