Shelby Jean Chapman, age 69, passed away from injuries suffered in an automobile accident on Wednesday, January 13, 2010. She was born on November 27, 1940 to the late Leonard and Ruth (Huff) Brooks in Putnam County, Ohio. She married Terry D. Chapman on July 20, 1963 and he preceded her in death on September 5, 2004. She was also preceded in death by three brothers: Ralph, Max, and Mel Brooks. She is survived by three sons: Jeff Chapman of North Baltimore, K.C. (Sheli) Chapman of McComb, and Bruce (Laurie) Chapman of North Baltimore; a daughter: Penny (Troy) Hyatt of North Baltimore; a sister: Shirley (Richard) Weaver of Arcadia; as well as 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Shelby was a 1958 graduate of Arcadia High School. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Arcadia, where she was a member of the sewing group at the church. She also loved to play bingo and enjoyed "Girls Night Out" with her high school friends.
Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 20, 2010. Pastor DJ Dent will officiate
