Henry Jefferson Williams was the son of Ess Williams and Etta L. Burnett. He was the 3rd of 5 children. After his mother died in 1910 his father re-married. Henry marrried Lizzy Bell Eddy in June of 1932 in Arkansas. They had 10 children: Vivian Faye, Billy Charles, Ela Mae, Charles Henry, Woody Gene, Orvil Joe, Annie Lee, Geraldine, Mary Ruth, & Garry Wayne.
