Phillip Bernard Ayers, 61, of 9 Damson St., passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2010 at his home. He was the son of the late William Henry and Charlotte Sara Wines Ayers. He was formerly employed as a textile worker and was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by sons Phillip Ayers, Jr. and wife Jill, Christopher Ayers and wife Anna; sister Amanda Bowen; 2 grandchildren Ryan Ayers and Megan Ayers. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at Whitney Community Cemetery and Chaplain Traci Bennett will officiate. Visitation will follow at the graveside. Memorials may be made to Piedmont Hospice, 1865 East Main Street, Suite F, Duncan, SC 29334. The family is at the home of his sister, Amanda Bowen.
