William Douglas Bartley,70, of Sylvester, died Friday, Aug 29,1997, at Tift General Hospital, after a lengthy illness. Douglas was born Jan. 8, 1927 in Colquitt County to Robert Perryman Bartley and Addie Johnson Bartley. HE was a retired mobile home service repairman and a U.S. Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his father, brother, George Riley, and sister Ruby Stephens.
Survivors include his mother, his wife, Louise Brooks Bartley; two daughters, Edith Bartley, Thomson, and Wanda Bartley, Orange Park, FL.; two sons, Lonnie (Lisa) Bartley, Sylvester and Ricky (Laura) Bartley, Poulan; a brother, Robert Bartley, West Plains, MO; and five grandchildren, Stefanie, Ashley, Blake, Amy and Allie Bartley, all of Sylvester.
