Epharas was born in New Hartford Ct. to Asher and Hannah Hopkins Bull and moved to the Mohawk Valley of New York and then to Stuben County in 1812 and settled in Prattsburg.He was a farmer and cleared a farm in Prattsburg and later moved to Bath where he cleared and owned several farms by himself. He was one of the first 10 families to settle in the town of Sipio{Bath} where there was 10 Indians to one white person.During the early years he had to go many miles through a path in the woods with his corn on his back to the mill.He married Sybil Lilly Ives on Valentine's Day in 1810. He died 1/27/1861 at the age of 78 years 11 months and 21 days and is buried in Grove Cemetery in Bath.-----------My 3rd Great Grandfather----------
