Miss Fannie Barnes, 78, member of a pioneer Richland family, died Friday morning at a home in Battle Creek after a lingering illness.
Miss Barnes was born May 25th, 1869 in Richland, daughter of Caroline and Alvin Barnes. She lived in Richland until 1940 when she moved to Battle Creek. She was a life member of the Richland Presbyterian Church.
She leaves a sister, Mrs. Hattie Wyley, Detroit and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 4 Saturday afternoon in the Richland Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Leason Sharpe officiating. Burial took place in Prairie Home cemetery, Richland. Augusta Beacon September 4, 1947 page 1
