Graveside Rites Held Here For W.H. Hawthorn
Funeral services for Will Henry (Bill) Hawthorn, 86, of Pampa, former Memphis resident, were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 20, in Carminchael-Whatley [sic] Colonial Chapel at Pampa with Rev. A.E. Burns, pastor of Highlands Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial was in Fairview Cemetery here.
Mr. Hawthorn passed away Wednesday evening in Veterans Hospital in Amarillo.
W.H. Hawthorn was born in Celeste and moved to Memphis in 1919. He had lived in Pampa since 1948 and was a veteran of World War I.
He is survived by his wife, Jewel; two daughters, Hrs. [sic] Henrietta Wiley of 5109 Shield in Amarillo and Mrs. Martha Duke of Lakeview; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Gammon of Fort Worth; and three grandchildren.
Pall bearers were Earl Miller, H.E. Goodnight, Wendell Harrison, J.M. Ferrel, Johnnie Brewer and W.M. Godwy, Jr.
