Mrs. Dorothy Lumbard of Columbus passed Wednesday at St. Francis Hospital. She was 69 years old and resided at 959 Piedmont Drive.
The daughter of the late Leroy and Ruther Hobson Wilson, Mrs. Lumbard was born in Rankin County, MS on August 24, 1940. She was a 1960 graduate of Carter High School in Brandon, MS and was employed with Ft. Benning Dependant Schools for over 20 years as a cook and was a member of Faith Tabernacle Community Church. She was a member of the Order of Easter Stars, PHA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommie Lumbard; a daughter, Angela Lumbard; and three sisters, Lillie Perry, Gloria Fox and Emma Jones. Surviving her departure with cherished memories, are: three daughters, Linda Ward (Dwayne) of Matthews, VA, Trina Lumbard and Miriam Lumbard of Columbus; three grandchildren, Dwayne Ward II (Alicia) and Jillian Ward of Matthews, Kenna Lumbard-Calhoun of Columbus; three brothers, Leroy Wilson, Jr. of Flowood, MS, Lonnie Wilson and Amos Wilson (Ann) of Brandon; three sisters, Ola M. Jones (L.V.), Maxine Jones (Robert Lee) and Dora McLaurin, all of Pearl, MS; an aunt, Willie M. Travis; two uncles, Joe L. Sparkman and R. C. Sparkman; in-law, Johnny Lumbard and Ruby Hubbard (James); other relatives and friends. Memorial services for Mrs. Lumbard will be Wednesday, 1:00 p.m. at Faith Tabernacle Community Church with Rev. R. George Plummer, pastor, officiating. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the church at 12:45 p.m. the day of the service.
