NOTE: John Taylor was a highly esteemed man in the organization of the first church in South Hadley, MA. His name appears on the Church Committee appointed at the first meeting, held March 12, 1733, of the South Parish, according to the records.

NOTE: Hannah (nee Gillette) Taylor was born into a family that suffered much tragedy. Her father was killed at the Turner's Falls Fight when she was two. At three her mother and two siblings were taken captive (Hannah somehow evaded capture), and were taken away to Canada, to be ransomed eight months later. Hannah's step-father, Stephen Jennings, was killed by Indians in 1710.
