Florence was the daughter of Horace Merwin and Sarah Florinda Peet. She married Harry Chester Lemmon on October 29, 1879. Harry died on March 13, 1895. Florence married Norwood Penrose Allen on March 18, 1897. Norwood died June 6, 1903 in Germantown, Pennsylvania. Florence married Clarkson Clothier in Philadelphia in about 1905. Clarkson died in 1917. Norwood Penrose Allen is buried in Laurel Hill Cemetery and Florence's name was added to his headstone after her death. She is interred in West Laurel Hill Cemetery in the Clothier family plot.
