Alma Dean "Missy" Griffin age 64, died Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at Community Hospice House in Vidalia. She was born July 25, 1944 in Appling County and had resided here all of her life. She was retired from the Appling County Board of Education where she had worked in the cafeteria at Appling County Middle School. She was the daughter of the late Odell Bullard and Essie Mae Johnson Bullard.
She is survived by her husband, Carlton Griffin of Baxley; a son and daughter-in-law Brandon and Amber Griffin of Baxley: her mother, Essie Mae Bullard of Baxley; two sisters, Peggy Rentz of Baxley and Skizzal Burkhalter of Baxley; brother, Bozzy Bullard of Baxley:
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at David E. Miles Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, in the chapel of David E. Miles Funeral Home with Rev. Justin McLellan and Rev. Charles Carter officiating. Interment will follow in the Baxley Graveyard.
Active pallbearers are Eddie Rentz, Brad Pickern, Kraig Burkhalter, Jim B. Bullard, William Hall and Kevin Simmons.
