Mrs. Nancy Wilcox McAlum, a former resident of Broxton, died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. W. W. Cribb in Anderson, S. C. Friday after a short illness.

She was born in Appling County, daughter of the late Jasper and Rhoda Smith Wilcox. She was 83 years of age.

Funeral services were conducted from Mary’s Chapel Sunday afternoon with the Rev. T. E. Pickren of Broxton and the Rev. Lum Morrison of Homerville officiating. Interment was in the Bethel Cemetery near West Green and special music was rendered by the Mt. Pleasant Church Choir.

Survivors include her husband, Tom McAlum, two sons, Earnest and W. B. McAlum; two daughters, Mrs. R. T. Goodman, Fitzgerald and Mrs. W. W. Cribb Anderson, S. C.; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Leonard, Miami, FL. Fifteen grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren also survive.

Active pallbearers were Julian Cribb, Terrell Cribb, James Goodman, Buddy Harper, Edgar Harper and Howard McAlum. Honorary pallbearers were Leonard Mobley, Nathan Harkleroad, Ira Cribb, George Fletcher, Robert Fletcher and Charlie Deen.

Funeral plans were under the direction of the Sims Funeral Home.
