Modoc Pioneer Is Laid to Rest.

Funeral services were held from the Kerr Chapel last Saturday for Andrew J. Cantrall, well known Jess Valley pioneer. He was 79 years of age at the time of his passing which occurred on Thursday.

Cantrall was born in Jacksonville, Ore. February 11, 1869. The family, about a year later, moved to Surprise Valley where they resided in Cedarville for a few years, after which they moved to Likely. When a boy, Cantrall moved to Jess Valley where he has since made his home. He was engaged in ranching with his sons.

Cantrall was preceded in death by his Wife, Ida, who passed away in 1944. Deceased is survived by seven children: Mrs. Arletta Bonham, Mrs. Ada Ballard, Waller, Laurence, Warren and Emmett Cantrall and Vernetta Phillips.
